EAT ME Padrón peppers are proof that chillies don't always have to be hot.  An indication of hotness is the ranking on our hot scale, the charts of the hottest peppers in the world. The hotness of peppers is scored on a scale of 0-10. With its score of 0, the padrón is a pepper you can add to a multitude of dishes without needing to worry. Did you know there are even varieties that taste sweet?

The padrón pepper is also grown in the Netherlands, in greenhouses. Fellow growers in Spain and Morocco grow the peppers outside, in fields. That also explains the difference in size. In the greenhouse the padrón can easily reach 5-7cm, outside the peppers stay a little smaller. Both types have a conical shape and a shiny skin.

Recipes

Thanks to the mild flavour of the EAT ME padrón, you can do something that isn't advisable with a lot of other chilli pepper varieties: enjoy its raw, as a snack. But it is also a fabulous ingredient in a salad, for example. These peppers are a true delicacy when grilled. Or roast them in the oven with sea salt.

Preparation

Simply wash the pepper first, then slice or chop it. The versatile padrón is ideal for cooking, baking, stir-frying or even on the barbecue.
