Caprese salad with avocado

Nothing says summer more than a caprese salad. We have added avocado to this typical Italian dish. All ingredients are sliced and assembled in an alternating pattern. It looks stunning, tastes lovely and is easy to make.

Caprese salad with avocado

  • 250 g buffalo mozzarella
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 250 g cherry tomatoes
  • 1 red onion
  • EAT ME Avocado
    2 avocados
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 5 sprigs of basil
  • salt and pepper

Preparation method

  1. Thinly slice the mozzarella and tomato and cut the cherry tomatoes into wedges. Slice the onion into half rings.
  2. Cut the avocados all the way around the stone. Twist the two halves apart. Remove the stone, scoop the flesh out of the skin and cut into thin slices.
  3. Arrange the slices of mozzarella, avocado and tomato in alternating layers on the plates. Divide the cherry and onion over the salad. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Drizzle with the olive oil and garnish with the basil leaves.
