Ingredients
Lemongrass syrup
- 500 g caster sugar
- 6 stalks lemongrass
- 1 lime
Kitchen tools
- Bottle with cap, approx. 1 litre
Preparation method
- Bring 1 litre of water with the sugar to the boil. Bruise the lemongrass stalks and add to the liquid. Simmer over a low heat for approx. 40 minutes until the syrup has thickened. Remove from the heat and leave to cool slightly.
- Squeeze the lime and add the juice. Remove the lemongrass stalks. Pour the syrup into a glass bottle with a cap. Pour some syrup into a glass and top up with (sparkling) water.
- Tip: Prefer less sugar? Replace the sugar (or some of the sugar) with the natural sweetener stevia. See the pack for the sugar/stevia ratio.
