Ingredients
French toast with carambola
- 1 egg
- 125 ml milk
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tbsp honey
- 4 slices wholemeal spelt bread
- 1 carambola (star fruit)
- 1 banana
- 50 g butter
- salt
Preparation method
- Beat the egg with the milk, cinnamon, honey and a pinch of salt in a deep bowl. Dip the slices of bread into the egg mixture one by one to coat.
- Slice the carambola and banana.
- Heat 1/3 of the butter in a non-stick frying pan. Fry 2 slices of French toast until golden brown in about 5 minutes. Turn the salmon halfway. Repeat the above for the other 2 slices.
- Heat the rest of the butter in the frying pan. Fry the carambola and banana in about 5 minutes until soft and golden brown. Serve the French toast with the carambola and banana.
