Ingredients
Salsa
- 1 kiwano
- 1 red sweet pepper
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 red onion
- 4 ripe tomatoes
- 1 cayenne pepper
- 5 g fresh coriander
- 10 g fresh basil
- 1 lime
- 1 tbsp honey or agave syrup
- Salt
Preparation method
- Slice the kiwano lengthwise, scoop the flesh out of the skin and place in a bowl.
- Halve the sweet pepper, remove the seeds and slice the flesh into 5 mm cubes. Thinly slice the garlic. Finely chop the onion. Remove the seeds from the tomato and finely slice the flesh into 5 mm cubes. Halve the cayenne pepper lengthwise, remove the seeds and finely slice the flesh. Add all the ingredients to the kiwano.
- Finely chop the coriander and basil leaves and add. Squeeze the lime. Season the salsa with lime juice, honey and salt.
Tip: Serve the salsa with tacos, iceberg lettuce and strips of steak. Or with grilled chicken and grilled corn cobs.
